Jumeirah Dubai

Contrary to rumours, Dubai has much more to offer than just pretty big buildings. Along with their prodigious architecture, Dubai has incredible fashion, the best nightlife, and amazing beaches. The weather can be daunting, but between October and March is the best time frame to go for cool weather.

Dubai is also famous for some of the most amazing hotels so it was imperative to book into a different a hotel which we haven’t experienced before. The first hotel we checked into was the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. It is located on Dubai’s The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence, offering endless shopping, dining, and leisure activities.

The hotel offers breakfast, and if you upgrade your room you’ll be granted access to the executive lounge for Afternoon Tea (3pm – 5pm) and Happy Hour (6pm – 8pm) which offers delicious savoury and sweet treats with a variety of drinks on the house. Having access to this prevents you from dining out every day/evening which saves you big! However, if you’d like to dine out be sure to walk along The Walk at Jumeriah Beach as they have a variety of restaurants.

Most of our time was spent at the resorts private beach and during the evening we’d roam along the streets of Jumeirah embracing the striking and rare nightlife. The safe, clean and buzzing vibe that I’ve experienced past midnight, everynight in Dubai is something I won’t come close to in South Africa.

When exploring parts of Dubai which were a far distance from our resort we either hopped into a taxi or used the Dubai Marina Metro Station which is about a 10 minute walk from the resort. Both are equally safe and the price can differ depending on the amount of people you are and the area you’d like to go to.

Details about the second hotel and places we’ve visited will be up on my next post so be sure to keep an eye out for it!
